Randy Schultz

关于作者

Randy grew up, mostly, in Anchorage, AK, where he learned to appreciate the outdoors and an athletic lifestyle. After college, at Oregon State University, he followed his father’s and two brother’s footsteps into the Navy, became a Naval Aviator, and flew off numerous aircraft carriers. In 1979, he left the Navy to fly airliners for Delta Airlines. Along with flying for Delta, he continued flying in the Naval Reserves, retiring in 1993. In 2005, after 27 years, he also retired from Delta Airlines. Since then, Randy has been pursuing his passion for raising, training, and hunting behind his Brittany bird dogs. He enjoys traveling around the country, from September to February, hunting several species of upland gamebirds. Randy BLOGS about his adventures in a journal about bird dogs and bird hunting, and reviews hunting-related products, at “abirdhuntersthoughts.com”. His PODCAST, “Turn ’Em Loose” is available on Apple and all major platforms. His BOOK, “Endless October” is a compilation of true stories experienced by Randy and his dogs. From his first dog, bought out of the Atlanta paper classifieds, to his latest dog, a high powered genetic marvel, they all have stories, and, at the end of the day, dogs do dog things. Randy, as a storyteller, puts you, the reader, alongside him for the heat, cold, wind, flush, shot, and retrieve. Dogs are bred, born, run, and age, and their stories are funny, serious, and occasionally sad, but always entertaining. Available on Amazon in paperback, eBook (Kindle), and as an audiobook (narrated by Randy). He lives in Zebulon, GA with his wife, BJ, five bird dogs, a rescue mutt, and one fat Lab.
