Ray Lawrence

Hallo Folks, My name is Ray Lawrence. I am long-ago retired and spend most of my time writing in various formats – plays and sketches and monologues for the stage (find me at Lazybee.co.uk and Scriptsforstage), comic verse, short stories and (recently) detective novels. I was, in the now dim and distant past, a Chartered Secretary with a multi-national engineering group, based in London and Europe; in 2002 my wife, Kath, and I moved out of the smoke to a little village on the edge of the Peak District (at the edge of Sheffield, South Yorkshire - that's in England!), called Dore, where we lead a life of great fun and (alas) very little debauchery. Here I spend my time writing silly verses for my Facebook page, sketches, comic verse and short plays and performing them to local groups. Kath and I have two very talented daughters and two equally talented and we hope to be very successful granddaughters. In spite of the pandemic, we look to the future with great optimism.
