Rebecca Schuman is a writer and translator whose work appears in Quartz, Slate, Literary Hub, Longreads, the Awl, the Hairpin, the Chronicle of Higher Education, Vitae, the Atlantic and numerous other outlets. She holds a PhD in German from the University of California-Irvine. She is the author of the academic monograph KAFKA AND WITTGENSTEIN and the memoir SCHADENFREUDE, A LOVE STORY, and translator into English of Caspar Battegay and Naomi Lubrich's JEWISH SWITZERLAND. Rebecca holds a PhD in German literature from the University of California, Irvine. She lives in St. Louis with her husband and young daughter.
