Rekha S. Rajan

Dr. Rekha S. Rajan is a nationally-recognized musician and STEAM early childhood educator. She is the author of a number of adult books including THE READ ALOUD FACTOR (Chicago Review Press, 2022), which received two starred reviews. It is a modern read-aloud handbook for parents. Rekha is also the author of six academic books on how to integrate the arts into other subjects. Rekha’s children’s books include AMAZING LANDMARKS (Scholastic, 2022), THIS IS MUSIC, a board book series (RISE/PenguinRandomHouse, 2022), DISASTER SQUAD, a chapter book series (Scholastic, 2023), and CAN YOU DANCE LIKE A PEACOCK (Sourcebooks, 2023). AMAZING LANDMARKS & THIS IS MUSIC were #1 new releases on Amazon and currently editor’s picks for best books. The audiobooks for THIS IS MUSIC were named notable children’s recordings by ALA/ALSC for 2023. Rekha did the narration and instrumentation for the books. Rekha holds a Doctorate and Masters in Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Roosevelt University. She lives in Chicago with her husband, three kids a dog, a bird and a hamster, in a house full of books and musical instruments.
