Remo Perini

关于作者

Poet, humorist, children’s book, and adult non-fiction author Remo Perini has had many artistic influences including musicians such as Lori Anderson and writing techniques used by such greats as Kurt Vonnegut. First published by the National Library of Poetry, Remo’s prolific writing blossomed in 2021-2022 with the completion of three children’s books, a book of poetry, and a book of humor, with work on an additional four books planned for release in 2023-2024. Available now on retail sites are his debut book of poetry: Evens and Beginnings, A Collection of Odds and Ends, and his book of humor, HA! (Humanity’s Absurdities). His series of three children’s books is awaiting a traditional publisher while in the process of being illustrated by legendary caricature artist, Danny O’Leary. The series tells the thought-provoking story of an innovative and ingenious eleven-year-old boy, Eustace Stout, who saves his town of Snowville that had been financially devastated by global warming. Eustace uses clever ideas to save the town, making technology fun and exciting, which is ideal for early education STEM teaching. Highly acclaimed by reviewers, the first in the series, Eustace and the Christmas Swim, has been referred to as “a new Christmas classic,” “a brand-new take on a Christmas book,” “original and contemporary,” “packed with wonderful messages for children,” and “a heartwarming story of a young boy who puts the needs of others first”. The second book in the series, Eustace and the Christmas Business, has Eustace solving another set of problems with a fanciful tale of creating a money-making business based on Christmas themes. The capstone book in the series, Eustace and the Magic of Christmas Kindness, has Eustace confronted with a problem beyond the powers of this ingenuity. Determined, he finds the solution is right in front of him: kindness. A beautiful, poignant, and powerful Christmas story teaching children the importance and magic that comes from caring for others. Remo Perini has been so busy artistically, that he missed the posted road signs leading to the paths taken by most authors. That path focuses on a single literary genre to develop recognition for a style or type of book. Remo has four beautiful though not yet published, children’s books. Taking a break from the children’s genre, Remo is currently writing and publishing in the genres of poetry, humor, and adult non-fiction. In the poetry genre, Remo published Evens and Beginnings, A Collection of Odds and Ends, in August 2022. The book has been described as: mesmerizing, striking a chord in your heart, expressing life in its fullness, spanning the wide panorama of emotions from pure joy to heart-breaking sadness, from love to disappointment and disillusionment, pure, raw, and sometimes harsh, reflecting life in its fullness, Spellbinding and thought-provoking, deep, eloquent, and meaningful, touching on the trials, triumphs, and hurdles we all face, beautifully articulating his perceptions of life, capturing the beauty of even the darker and trying emotions, a heartwarming work of love that is infused with varying emotions and keen observations, and a book brimming with stimulus. If that is not enough, reviewers have stated that, ”Perini has a keen feel and artistic ear for rhythm, evident in the way he crafts verses that convey metaphorical philosophies that strike you straight in the heart,” and “Perini is an outstanding writer who can communicate positive and negative emotions charmingly,” and, ”Perini is an accomplished wordsmith; his words show thoughtfulness and depth, creating a book that is filled with emotionally resonant, profoundly thoughtful, contemplative, well-written, well-conceived poems.” Most of the poems do have a rhyme scheme but this is accomplished through free form, allowing Perini's verses and stanzas to flow without constraint. The topics are as varied as the tone of Perini's work, ranging from a fluid and concise ode to storytelling narrative verse. His poetry has many forms, and he does not limit himself to one style, exploring a variety of rhythms offering refreshing diversity. Through his work, Perini shows the reader that harmony is everywhere around us. Free verse, lilting rhyming verse, epistolary verse, a collection of poetic happenings and styles. While some of them have clearly discernable topics and subject matter, others feel more abstract. Despite the similar underlying theme of the nature of existence and the exploration of the human condition, every single poem feels unique and brings something of its own to the narrative. Perini’s more abstract work playfully draws the reader in by offering tidbits of meaning while obscuring depth of understanding, using new words or those of vague familiarity. Remo believes that a great book is not dictated by its subject but by the skill of the writer: “A great writer can write about a speck of dust that has been laying on a shelf for ten years and make it interesting and intriguing.” His hope is that his readers come away from his books with a sense of joy, curiosity, or humor from their experience. His latest work is a book of humor titled, HA! (Humanity’s Absurdities). According to reviewers, “Remo Perini has created a comedy masterpiece”, “HA! is one of the funniest books I have ever read”, “HA! has only one purpose, to make a reader laugh,” “HA! Is the best edutainment money can buy,” “The author’s imagination is extremely wild and fertile,” “An all-round fantastic book and an ideal gag gift for any occasion,” “A fictional encyclopedia of absolutely ridiculous nonsense with no intent whatsoever except to make a reader laugh, chuckle, smirk, and hopefully roll on the floor laughing (ROTFL).” Most of the material in HA! is a complete fabrication based on hot air and warping reality. “The author finds a new way of looking at and discussing something that you’ve seen a thousand times before, providing an offbeat and bizarre way of describing the familiar.” “Perini looks at the world in a unique manner, sharing nonsensical anecdotes with a straight face and strait-laced anecdotes with a generous seasoning of silliness.” “HA! Is a great book for much-needed relief from an all too serious world with comedy that is as wacky as it is observant, as nonsensical as it is grounded, and as outlandish as it is witty.” Remo Perini has a doctorate in information technology and has developed patent applications for several of his ideas. Dr. Perini does not use the “Dr.” superlative, but he does wield a mighty poetic license that grants him the right to make up words and ignore the rules of grammar. As a technologist, he is in the process of changing the way we do everything in life with current efforts on: revolutionizing the commercial aviation industry with his Commercial Airvolution Concepts, working with chemists so that the joy of eating, or ingestion, can be separated from the caloric intake of digestion (Ingestolution), and developing psychophysiological technology to change the way we authenticate information systems users in a manner that gets rid of passwords (these may be true, or not true, or even completely made up). When he’s not writing, Remo is busy as a part owner and investor in a restaurant in Vienna, Virginia, called Hawk & Griffin, a British pub. He also owns a government services company, CeleraPro, run out of Reston, Virginia and with eighty employees, which serves the General Services Administration (GSA) and the National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA). Remo grew up in NY the eldest son of two elementary school teachers and moved to San Jose, CA after college graduation. He hosted a radio show on 89.7FM KFJC, called “The Gateway to Infinity” where he attained some local celebrity through his weekly satirical feature, “Bay Area Laundromats (BAL)”. In response to a BAL press release, David Letterman’s producer said, “We would love to have you on the show, but your feature is local and we only bring on guests of national interest.” Then, demonstrating the sincerest form of flattery, Letterman aired a laundromat segment the next week. Dr. Perini is convinced in the dogmatic, firmly held ideal that opinions are nothing more than personal views. Dr. Perini believes to the depths of his soul, that a story that is breathtaking in scope and a masterwork of brilliant storytelling, that makes the reader laugh, then cry, and laugh again, feel the agony of the protagonist’s loss, the joy of new discoveries, and take the reader on a journey that makes time stand still, can take place in a setting no more exotic than a kitchen table as told from the vantage point of a wheel of mindful and poignant gorgonzola. He has yet to accomplish this extraordinary feat. Currently living in Vienna, Virginia, and with prior stints in Long Island, New York, San Jose, California, and Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Remo lives with his ten-year-old poodle named Enzo and has two amazing sons who aspire to playing video and virtual reality games for their whole lives while eating cake. Remo aspirations are simpler. He just wants to become the Bard of Vienna, or the Bard of anyplace looking for a Bard.
