René Andreas Eisenbart's love for art began in childhood where she sketched in the margins of school papers. She became recognized for her botanical watercolor during 25 years as an artist for The Oregonian where she created 100 Illustrations for the book “Plant This!” In 2008 René began making her way as a fine artist, using watercolor with acrylic mediums, marbling and other techniques. Her watermedia work includes elements of the natural world that reveal the whimsy of her imagination. She finds the creative process exhilarating and loves to experiment, allowing the “imperfections” that make her paintings unique. After discovering new ways to blend acrylic paint marbling with her watercolor paintings, René created an hour-long instructional video to tell you how she does it. Here's her introduction to marbling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_laLzd9URw René also enjoys gardening and hiking. Her two grown sons are also artists and traveling, cooking, fishing and camping are often family activities that lead to inspiration for paintings. She is a signature member of National Watercolor Society, Western Federation Watercolor Society, Northwest Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of Oregon and International Society of Experimental Artists. She teaches classes in her studio in the Tualatin Mountains outside Portland Oregon and leads art retreats and workshops around the world. Read about her process: www.rene-art.com
