Rhonda Sherman has been an extension waste management specialist with North Carolina State University since 1993. She is passionate about keeping waste out of landfills and incinerators via minimization, reuse, recycling, composting and vermicomposting. She is the director of the Compost Learning Lab (CL2), which has 26 types of vermicomposting and composting bins. Rhonda organizes the world’s only annual conference on large‐scale commercial vermicomposting. She is a frequent speaker, author of over a hundred publications and webpages, and author of the book The Worm Farmer’s Handbook: Mid- to Large-Scale Vermicomposting for Farms, Businesses, Municipalities, Schools, and Institutions. Rhonda is also a co-editor of the book Vermiculture Technology: Earthworms, Organic Waste, and Environmental Management.
