Richard Driscoll

关于作者

Dr Driscoll combines a clinical practice with a strong interest in innovation and research. He was principal investigator in the widely known "Romeo and Juliet Effect" research, in which parental opposition to a relationship is found to intensify the feelings of love over a brief window of time. He continues to write on relationships, shining a flashlight on the prevailing confusing and showing how to understand the continuing misunderstandings. Dr D constructed the 10-item Westside Test Anxiety Scale, which provides a brief but accurate screening for anxiety impairment and is becoming relatively popular for its simplicity (and because it is free) Dr D has constructed several anxiety reduction and confidence building trainings, which rely on physical activity and challenging attitudes rather than simple relaxation. His "Confidence Training for Tests" produced an average half letter test gains in each of four studies, which is exceptional. Dr D's "Personal Shielding to Deflect Hostility" is found to produce benefits for about 80% of those who practice it. Worn out by troublesome companions? Shield out the negativity, then turn it around and soak in the support. The author has just finished "Would You Meet Me Halfway," which combines principles of equal consideration with practical suggestions. Dr D was trained in ordinary language psychology, so he speaks your language and is easy to understand. He lives in Denver CO, and is in private practice with his wife and sometimes co-author Dr. Nancy Ann Davis.
