Richard Harrison is an Australian author who spent ten years living in the UK, where he was reponsible for launching Australia's iconic 'Jim's Mowing' franchise. His subsequent gardening and business misadventures became the subject of his book 'The Export Gardener,' while his sixteen year cricket umpiring career (in both England and Australia) is recollected in his memoir 'Stumped - One Cricket Umpire, Two Countries.' These days he resides on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula and is learning Italian at a nearby U3A college. He plays tennis with friends most weeks and gets to the odd race meeting. In the early mornings (of the warmer months), you will find him strolling barefoot on the beach at Balnarring, and in the winter, he is often at the MCG cheering on the Magpies in the AFL. His web site is www.richardharrisonbooks.com
