Richard McColl is a freelance foreign correspondent based in Colombia. His work has been published in the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, the BBC, Foreign Policy and the Globe and Mail, amongst other publications. He routinely appears on international news broadcasts to speak about Colombia. He holds a PhD in Ciencias Sociales y Humanas and a professional MA in Resolución de Conflictos from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a PG Diploma in International Journalism from City University, London. In 2023, he opened a boutique editorial company to publish independent literature about Colombia and the region. So far, Fuller Vigil has published: "Better than Cocaine: Learning to Grow Coffee, and Live in Colombia," by Barry Max Wills and "Colombia at a Crossroads: A Historical and Social Biography," by Richard McColl. His weekly podcast, Colombia Calling has been running for over a decade and is an essential source of information for people seeking out news and stories from Colombia. He is also the host of the LatinNews podcast which covers news and views from the region every fortnight.
