When I was a young man, Campus crusade for Christ printed a copy of the New Testament with the cover entitled Blue Print for Revolution. At the time, that title was thought to be the radical new way of looking at God’s Word, but what choked that dream out of many of the young people in the professing church like me, was the same old practice of spoon-feeding people the Word of God, without adequately teaching people how to read it and think about it for themselves. Consequently, the revolution quickly died. We live in an age where most folks are spoon-fed the Word of God leaving them with little understanding of how to engage the God of the Word. The results are this current generation who want to be told what to think and believe about everything, whether it is true or not. I want to start a quiet revolution with these studies, where everyday people are empowered to study God’s Word with confidence, by simply turning to His Word and asking the Spirit of God to guide us into all truth. Anyone called of God can engage not only with God’s Word, but with God Himself. My goal is not to teach you the Bible, but to teach you to ask the questions that not only challenge your thinking but the status quo as well. The answers to your questions might surprise you and leave you wondering like myself, if it is not time to change the concepts we have been fed for generations. The New Zion Bible Study Series is designed to teach a daily habit of study in God’s Word. It was originally written in Kindle format to be used in conjunction with the internet, in an interactive method of looking at Bible study tools to help dig out the nuggets of wisdom found in the Word of God. However, because they were written for my children and grandchildren, who requested a paperback addition as well, I have formatted the studies for people who like the old school feel of a book in hand.
