Rick Ufford-Chase

关于作者

Rick Ufford-Chase lives in the multifaith Community of Living Traditions at Stony Point Center, in NY. The community of twenty Christians, Muslims and Jews is dedicated to the practice of providing a genuine welcome to all people through the Conference Center, and to the study and practice of nonviolence, peace, and social and eco justice. Rick worked in the sanctuary movement for Central American refugees in the 1980's and co-founded BorderLinks, Samaritans and No More Deaths over the following twenty years to respond directly to the crisis in the borderlands. He and his wife Kitty also co-founded Maya Quetzal Restaurant and the Sitting Tree Community in Tucson. There is a reason the word "co-founder" lives in front of most everything he does: Rick believes in collaboration and the power of community. Kitty and Rick have three children. In his spare time, Rick can be found rafting as a guide for Wild Waters Outdoor Center on the Upper Hudson, leading Stony Point Guests on quiet morning kayaks on the lakes of Harriman State Park, sailing with his wife Kitty in Haverstraw Bay, or cross-country skiing on his family's homestead in northern Vermont.
