Professor Rita D. Sherma, PhD, is the Director & Associate Professor at Graduate Theological Union’s Shingal Center for Dharma Studies | Core Doctoral Faculty | and Chair of the Department of Theology & Ethics | and founding Co-Chair of Sustainability 360 ° at GTU, Berkeley, CA. Dr. Sherma is the former Swami Vivekananda Visiting Faculty in Hindu Studies at the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles. She has published widely, numerous academic articles, books chapters, and books including: (1) Religion & Sustainability: Interreligious Resources, Interdisciplinary Responses (Springer 2021); (2) Contemplative Studies & Hinduism: Meditation, Devotion, Prayer, & Worship (Routledge, 2020); (3) Swami Vivekananda: His Life, Legacy, and Contemporary Relevance (Lexington, 2021); (3) Hermeneutics and Hindu Thought: Toward a Fusion of Horizons (Springer, 2008); (4) Contemporary Issues in Constructive Dharma: Epistemology and Hermeneutics; (6) Dying, Death, & Afterlife in Dharma Traditions and Western Religions; (7) Woman and Goddess in Hinduism: Reinterpretations and Re-envisionings (Palgrave-MacMillan, 2011). Dr. Sherma is and Associate Editor of the "Encyclopedia of Indian Religions" and founding Editor-in-Chief of the "Journal of Dharma Studies" (Springer Publishing). Her most recent book is "Religion & Sustainability: Interreligious Resources, Interdisciplinary Responses" (Springer-Nature United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Book Series).
