Rocío, eager since she was a child for stories about her ancestors, has saved 8mm films, slides, old photographs, family writings, and even stories told by her parents. Descended from Galician emigrants in Mexico, and guided by that heritage of freedom, in 2009 she left the capital city to live with her son Julen in the Riviera Maya. Discovering in that paradise one of her great passions: Photography; thus, with images she begins to tell stories. In 2016, she emigrates to the mountains of Colorado in the United States, to build a family life with her husband John. It is in 2019, after the emotional farewell to her mother Marisa, in which she promises to tell her her memories, when she undertakes the adventure of weaving the stories with meticulous discipline and, appealing to her prudent creativity, reconstructs the lives of her Celtic ancestors going back to the 2nd century BC. Rocío thinks that, “Flying is following the path of your dreams, and then walking them in your reality”; thus, in the summer of 2022, with the desire to get closer to the land of her roots, she moves with her family to Galicia. And, using ink as her way of processing life, values, and teachings; in a serene and magical way, she creates stories that evoke images by delving into that deep love for her family, revealing those legends in the first book of the saga "El Bosque de los Igmas: Memorias de mis ancestros". And, in the process of been written, the second book of the saga "Adiós a mi madre".
