Born at the dawn of the sixties in the front room of my parents house in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, from the age of five I grew up in Canterbury, Kent. All I can remember of my formative years is hours dressed in cassock and cotter as a semi-professional altar boy, singing the odd solo in Canterbury Cathedral (and I really do mean 'odd'), and Latin prep. After several jobs that ranged from barman to computer programmer, and after a move to Halifax in 1985, I met Jean, a Yorkshire lass, soon to be my wife. In 1989, Jean and I were lured to Florida with a one year contract to write software, promises of backyard swimming pools and all the grapefruits we could eat, but were welcomed with daily thunderstorms and bugs as big as fruit scones. The one-year contract turned into a fulltime gig, and after a few years, I had gained two gorgeous children, three wacky cats, and a dubious 16 handicap. With our blood relatives back in Blighty, we found a new family in the local Catholic church. Over the years, I rediscovered my singing voice (such as it is) and the joy of writing. After several more moves, we are now settled near Austin, Texas. My daily bread is courtesy of my job in IT, my golf handicap is still dubious, my singing is a distant melody, but I do still love to write...hopefully folks will enjoy the results.
