Dr. Robert I. Colautti is an Associate Professor in the Biology Department at Queen's University in the historic city of Kingston, Ontario in Canada. Dr. Colautti leads a group of publicly-funded researchers who investigate a variety of topics at the interface of ecology, evolution and genetics, with an emphasis on biological invasions and tick-borne diseases (see EcoEvoGeno.org). Research from the Colautti Lab is highly cited among the research community, with peer-reviewed articles published in Science, Proceedings of the National Academy (USA), Proceedings of the Royal Society, and other prestigious journals. He also values public engagement, creating the Dragon Phylogeny (DragonPhylogeny.org) to teach coding and evolutionary biology, and co-founding the MyLyme project (MyLyme.ca) to study tick-borne diseases. Dr. Colautti has extensive training in data analysis and coding for the analysis of biological data, beginning with an Honours BSc and MSc from the University of Windsor (Canada) and a PhD from the University of Toronto (Canada), followed by advanced postdoctoral training at Duke University (North Carolina), The University of British Columbia (Canada) and the University of Tuebingen (Germany). Dr. Colautti has held many prestigious awards including an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship, an NSERC Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship, and a Canada Research Chair (Tier II).
