Robert Moore is a native of the Shenandoah Valley and has been writing various historical works about the American Civil War and the Valley for nearly 30 years. Though his last published book was Tragedy in the Shenandoah Valley, he maintained a historically-focused newspaper column for the Page News & Courier from 1998-2010, and since 2008, has been actively blogging at Cenantua's Blog. In 2013, he contributed Southern Unionist content to Richard Williams' book, "Lexington, Virginia and the Civil War", and more recently (2015) contributed a chapter to ""We Learned That We are Indivisible": Sesquicentennial Reflections on the Civil War Era in the Shenandoah Valley".
