Robert E. Redding

Robert E. Redding is a Maryland born writer and former cross-country truck driver. The son of a Washington, DC attorney, he obtained an Economics Degree from Lafayette College where he was the captain of the fencing team. After two years of Army service as a Lieutenant with the 1st Armored Division at Ft. Hood, Texas, he moved to Colorado. At the University of Colorado at Boulder, he attained a Masters of Economics Degree, specializing in Labor-Management Relations. At the time, the whole counter-culture revolt was in full swing. He was drastically affected by all the New Age speakers that came through town. It was at this time that he discovered that the corporate world was not for him. He moved to Anchorage, Alaska for two years and continued his studies in astrology and other metaphysical subjects. To earn a living he worked on the docks for the Sea-Land Corporation. After leaving Alaska, he moved to Maui for one year. There he began his first professional driving job delivering Texaco gasoline all over the island. He then moved to San Francisco to seriously study astrology. A student of the subject since his days at Boulder, he figured that if astrology was everything they said it was then everybody should study it. It was during this time that he obtained his truck driving license and began a 37-year career as a cross-country driver. His adventures generated all the stories that make up his current book "Over the Road". His last trucking job was with FedEx Ground running a weekly trip from Los Angeles to Atlanta, Georgia. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed snow skiing, rock climbing, backpacking, white water kayaking and tennis into later life. He continues in his fascination with paranormal subjects and is a member of the UFO Society of Orange County. He is also a member of the Near Death Experience community. An enthusiastic overseas traveler, he has visited Africa six times, India three times, and traveled through Central and South America, Europe, Asia and the South Sea Islands. In 2011 he flew to England to take a tour of the crop circles that form near Stonehenge. He retired to Orange County, California where he devoted half of each day to writing. His first eBook on Amazon, "Mutual Funds Are Cheating You!" tells investors exactly how mutual funds steal their money. He also writes a blog at newagefascinations.wordpress.com. His latest entry is a list of the year’s best bumper stickers. Recently, he moved to Sedona, Arizona where he enjoys the beautiful scenery and the plethora of psychics, New Age healers and astrologers that make up the local spiritual community. Currently, he has a number of manuscripts under development including "The Mystical Symbolism of the Christian Fish", "The Autobiography of an Alien", "The Symbolism of Salt, the Essential Element." and his next Wall Street book, "Is it Safe to Jump Back into the Stock Market?" He has also written a number of research papers on astrological symbolism and is working on another trucking adventure book entitled "Life Lessons I’ve Learned in 37 years of Trucking."
