Robin Perrie is an award-winning journalist who has been reporting on the Yorkshire Ripper for more than 30 years. He joined The Sun as one of its northern reporters in 1995 and, following Peter Sutcliffe’s death in 2020, wrote a 12-page supplement about his life which won Supplement of the Year in the Society of Editors press awards. Robin covers news stories across the north but also internationally and recently reported from Ukraine on the opening weeks of the Russian invasion. I’m The Yorkshire Ripper (Mirror Books) is his first book and came about after he met Alfie James who had collated a huge library of raw material from Peter Sutcliffe during their 16-year relationship. This included nearly 200 letters from Sutcliffe and notes from almost 400 phone calls and 30 face-to-face meetings between them at Broadmoor Hospital and Frankland Prison.
