Robin Preiss Glasser has had two careers, the first as a professional ballet dancer and the second as a children’s book illustrator. With over 100 books to her credit, and winner of the Children’s Book Council’s “Illustrator of the Year Award” in 2013, Robin is best known as the illustrator of the "Fancy Nancy" series. Books in the series have been on the New York Times Bestseller list for more than 330 weeks, selling over 45 million volumes. Nancy now stars in her own Emmy-nominated Disney television animated series that premiered in 2018. "Lambslide," and "Escape Goat," written by international best-selling novelist Ann Patchett, are Robin’s most recent books, as well as "Grand Jete and Me," written by ballerina Allegra Kent. With "Gloria's Promise," published in March 2023, Robin has returned to her ballet roots. In a partnership between American Ballet Theatre and Random House Studio, she has written and illustrated a book based on her early experience, Her sister and co-author of this book, Jacqueline Preiss Weitzman, collaborated with her on their first book together, "You Can't Take a Balloon into the Metropolitan Museum," published in 1998.
