Robyn Magalit Rodriguez is currently an Associate Professor of Asian American Studies at the University of California, Davis. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology in 2005 at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining the U.C. Davis faculty in 2011, Dr. Rodriguez was on the Sociology faculty at Rutgers University (New Brunswick). Rodriguez's first book, "Migrants for Export" earned an honorable mention by the Association for Asian American Studies. Dr. Rodriguez has written extensively on Philippine migration and transnationalism for nearly fifteen years. Her recent research examines migration regimes from a comparative perspective and on an international level.
