I’m Rod Hugen, a founding pastor of the Village Church in Tucson, Arizona. I’m a writer, storyteller, poet, humorist, and word aficionado, I love to pray, preach, mentor, and disciple people, especially pastors and church planters. When not sitting in a my ‘prayer tub’ praying, I’m likely to be found working on a manuscript or flopped out on the couch watching basketball or Netflix. I love to cook without recipes, write about anything, and play Scrabble with my siblings and friends. I’m supposedly retired but work half time raising up, encouraging, and discipling church planters and pastors and serving the Christian Reformed Church in North America in a variety of ways. I’m married to my wife, Kathy, who is a retired wound care nurse at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center and a loving mom to our two sons, Justin and Derek. We love our ‘date days’ and being together with family. We also have two ‘godgranddaughters’, Terra and Jolie, who bring much delight to our lives. I love Jesus. I love people. I love telling the stories of where we all intersect. I’m a blessed man.
