Ron Higgins

Ron Higgins is an award-winning multi-media sports journalist with 41 years of experience covering the Southeastern Conference and national sporting events. Higgins, son of former LSU sports information director Ace Higgins, graduated from LSU in 1979. He is a past president of the Football Writers Association of America and has won more than 180 national, regional and state writing awards working for the Shreveport Times, the Shreveport Journal, the Baton Rouge Advocate, The Memphis Commercial Appeal, the Mobile (Ala.) Register, the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, TigerDetails.com and Tiger Rag Magazine. He is in the Tennessee Sportswriters Hall of Fame and has also been named the National Sportswriters and Broadcasters Association Writer of the Year in both Tennessee and Louisiana. He has authored six books.
