Rose Lyons, the author of Parenting a Child With ADHD, is the mother of two children with the condition and has been researching both it and other mental conditions for the last 15 years. Her work is targeted at parents and is designed to equip them with the knowledge and tools to support and nurture children with a range of mental conditions, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Both of Rose’s children were diagnosed with ADHD at a young age. Determined to support them to the best of her ability, she set out on a mission to understand and learn about the condition, testing out the strategies that worked best to help her children with daily life. As her research grew, she began conducting her own studies, not only on ADHD but on other mental conditions too. Rose quickly realized that her in-depth research and experience in raising children with ADHD placed her in a unique position to help other families. She is committed to working with parents to confront and overcome the challenges ADHD can pose and now aims to spread her knowledge further, increasing awareness of the mental health needs of both children and adults through her writing. She is a firm believer that any child can live a happy and fulfilling childhood despite the challenges their condition presents and is determined to provide parents with the tools to facilitate this. When she’s not elbow-deep in research, Rose loves nothing more than to spend time with her family. She enjoys spending time with all of her critters including her horses, goats, dogs and one day mini cows!
