Roxy Marj (Barrus) grew up in Washington state, then moved to New York City at age 18. She spent her 20's navigating the city as a nanny and eventually studying fashion at Parsons School of Design. By day she learned how to design childrenswear, but by night she preferred the path of illustration. Killing two birds with one stone, Roxy started combining her love of illustration with fashion and textiles, which eventually grew into a full fledged business. Six years after graduating from Parsons, Roxy sold her business to Land of Nod which is now Crate & Kids, the childrens' branch of Crate & Barrel. Since selling her IP, Roxy has made a thoughtful effort of getting into the children's book industry. The 12 "Baby Astrology: Dear Little" board book series is her author-illustrator debut with Random House Childrens/Doubleday. Roxy now lives in Boulder, Colorado with her husband Jesse, a fine artist, and their little rescue dog Sid. Much of her inspiration comes from being out in nature, traveling and searching through nostalgia.
