Born in suburban Philadelphia, Roy Kerr completed a PhD in Spanish Language and Hispanic Literature at Penn State, and taught at colleges and universities in Pennsylvania, Virginia and Florida for more than three decades, publishing primarily in the areas of Colombian and Peruvian fiction. After retiring from academia, he began a second career as a baseball historian, concentrating on the 19th Century. From 2009 to 2015 he published 5 book-length biographies of Hall of Fame players from this era, all of which are available on amazon.com. A self-taught oil painter, Roy works today as a copyist of master works by painters like Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, Cezanne and Degas, and has lectured locally at museums and book clubs on the works of Goya, Velazquez and Degas
