Roy Watson-Davis

Roy has now retired after teaching since 1991 and holding a variety of roles in his 25 years in State education including Head of Year, Head of Humanities, Head of History, Advanced Skills Teacher and Specialist Leader in Education. He also led on in-school PGCE and NQT programmes, alongside national training workshops for such organisations as the Chartered London Teachers, UEA History PGCE programme, Suffolk and Norfolk primary SCITT and SHP. In 2006 he wrote the 'New Tricks from an Old Dog' column for the Times Educational Supplement. He also contributed occasional freelance articles to the Secondary Education newspaper. He has written three books for the Teacher's Pocketbooks range as well as two knowledge revision books for John Catt Education. In 2016 he moved into Independent education and prior to retirement worked as the Head of History and Politics at the Royal Hospital School in Suffolk. Roy spends his time listening to his vast collection of Led Zeppelin live recordings, watching classic Dr Who episodes and chilling with his cats.
