S.B.McEwen has a background in germs. Specifically a bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology from Westminster College (PA) and a masters degree in Microbiology from Duquesne University. After a brief time as a forensic chemist, S.B. McEwen has worked in molecular biology research areas such as cancer, diabetes and cystic fibrosis holding scientific publications in each research area. Periodically, S.B. McEwen has been an adjunct professor in biology. S.B. McEwen utilized her passions and background to publish her first book, Washing Ourselves Sick: We Have Never Been So Clean, Yet So Unprepared. After publishing non-fiction, S.B. McEwen released several children's books on fun topics such as big trucks and lacrosse. Washing Ourselves Sick and The Lacrosse Goal have both been on the Amazon Best Seller list. Both books have also earned independent awards in Science & Medicine and Juvenile Sports, respectively.
