Greetings! My name is Susan (Westbrook) Brown and if I had to describe myself, it would be wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, friend, teacher, writer...I wear many hats! My love for writing started when I was a young child, probably around 10. I lived in the small town of Chickamauga, Georgia with my parents and two brothers. I can remember being a bit of a tomboy, along with my friend Regina, and we thought we wanted to learn to play football....well, that got a bit rough for us and didn't last, so we went back to our Barbie dolls! It was during that time that I had a "dream" of a book in my head. I wanted to write about a girl that wanted to play football and decided the title would be "The Last Rose of Summer"....never wrote that book, but always had the desire to write. I can remember in our then long summers of June, July and August between school terms, my brother Tommy and I would spend much of our summer reading. We would both read Nancy Drew mysteries and Trixie Belden mysteries. Good memories! My friend, Gail, also read these books and we would talk about the ones we liked the best, so I guess we sort of had a "summer book club" of our own. So, this love of books sparked my imagination and gave me the love of writing. I enjoy using words to make my characters come to life. My brother, Tommy, is the "artist" behind the books that I write. We collaborate and write and design together. We really enjoy writing and illustrating our books and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do! Susan Westbrook Brown and Tommy Westbrook
