Susan Westbrook Brown

关于作者

Greetings! My name is Susan (Westbrook) Brown. I currently live in Estill Springs, TN. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, writer and the list goes on and on! My brother, Tommy, is the illustrator for our books. Tommy is a retired graphic designer and lives in Blairsville, Georgia. Tommy is a Master Gardner and also a member of The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). We are originally from Chickamauga, Georgia, where we lived and grew up with our older brother and our parents. Growing up in the fifties and sixties, our summers were long...in those days we were out of school for three months: June, July and August. During those hot summer months, we spent a lot of our time reading. Tommy and I loved to read Nancy Drew mysteries and Trixie Belden mysteries. My friend, Gail, also read these books and we would discuss our favorites...so I guess we had a summer book club of our own. When I was 10 years old, I was a bit of a tomboy and my friend Regina and I decided we wanted to play football...until it got too rough! We soon decided to go back and play with our Barbie dolls, but it was around this "tomboy football" time that I decided to be a writer. I can remember wanting to write a story about a girl who wanted to play football and I had already picked out my title: "The Last Rose of Summer"....but that story was never to be. Now that I have been a mother, grandmother and teacher, I have had many ideas to write about...and I began this journey about 20 years ago. The first four books we published were written that long ago. So this has been a dream of mine for a long time, and with the help from Tommy, this dream is coming true! I hope you enjoy reading our books and I look forward to writing many more for you in the near future!
