Sammy Juliano was born and raised in Fairview, New Jersey, where he continues to live today with his wife Lucille and five children. He has taught English, literature, creative writing and American history to his hometown junior high school students, and children's literature to Elementary school kids in a still-running 37-year career in education. He is currently stationed at the Number 3 School Annex, the building where his wife serves as principal. Prior to his teaching tenure, he was twice elected to the Fairview Board of Education, first in 1980 and again in 1983, and is presently a Trustee on the Fairview Library board. Sammy co-founded and continues to serve as Chief Editor of the arts site, wondersinthedark.wordpress.com,, where he has written over 400 reviews -many of them essay length- on film, theater, music, opera and children's books, and has run international and decade film polling projects. Sammy was the lead actor in two short films, "Best Picture" and "The Thing That Kills Me the Most, directed by Jay Giampietro, that were chosen to screen at the New York Film Festival, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Maryland Film Festival, the Nighthawk Film Festival and other venues. Sammy maintains a vigorous online presence on social media.
