Dr. Sandra Hirsh’s experience in the library and information science field spans academia, research & development, and consumer product development. She has worked at San José State University (SJSU) since 2010, first as Professor and Director of the SJSU School of Information and currently as Associate Dean for Academics in the College of Professional and Global Education. Her Silicon Valley industry experience includes working at HP Labs, Microsoft, and LinkedIn. She is an active leader in the library and information science field. She served as president of two international associations: the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE) and the Association for Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T). She co-founded and co-chairs the global virtual Library 2.0 conference series. Her recent books include Blockchain (Library Futures) and Information Services Today: An Introduction, 3rd edition. Her latest book, Library 2035: Imagining the Next Generation of Libraries, is about the future of libraries.
