Scot Jones researches and writes for the Respiratory Therapy profession. His books include best-selling pocket guides, used by medical professionals throughout the world. Scot has co-authored 9 in-print titles, including pocket guides, simulation resources, and study guides. Online, Scot has authored test preparation for Respiratory Therapists, ranging from entry-level credentials, to advanced credentials, including neonatal, pediatric, and adult critical care. Before he started writing full-time, Scot graduated from a respiratory program in Maine (a second career), where he steadily developed his skills, serving as a staff therapist at a community hospital in Maine, before relocating to North Carolina to be first a therapist, then a supervisor, at a teaching hospital, Eastern Carolina University (ECU) Health. From there Scot took on the challenging role of Director of Clinical Education at Broward College, where he developed the program's simulation education component. Today, Scot writes at home full-time from Raleigh, North Carolina, speaks at conferences across the United States, and works clinically at a local community hospital.
