Scott Gaddis is a seasoned occupational safety and health professional with over 35 years of experience in the field of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS). In his book, From Participation to Partnership: A Journey to Safety at the Front Line, Scott provides an insightful account of his career, sharing pivotal moments, practical strategies, and compelling real-world stories. His approach to safety leadership emphasizes building strong partnerships between frontline workers and senior leaders, fostering interdependent, inclusive teams committed to achieving safety excellence. As Vice President and Global Practice Leader for Safety and Health at Intelex Technologies, based in Toronto, Canada, Scott leads thought leadership efforts remotely from Owensboro, Kentucky. His work focuses on uniting EHS experts worldwide to promote knowledge exchange and collaborative solutions that reduce workplace risk. He also consults with clients on program management and EHS strategy while supporting internal teams in enhancing EHS capabilities for Intelex customers. Before joining Intelex, Scott held executive roles in EHS leadership, including Vice President of Global Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability at Coveris High-Performance Packaging and Executive Director of Global EHS at Bristol-Myers Squibb. He also spent 18 years at Kimberly-Clark, where he served as Global Director of Occupational Safety and Health, following an early career with GE Motors Division as an EHS Director. A frequent speaker at national and international EHS conferences, Scott is recognized for his engaging and informative presentations. His thought leadership extends beyond his book, with numerous articles published in leading EHS trade journals. He is also a Special Government Employee with the Department of Labor and has been honored with multiple awards for his leadership in EHS, including VPPA Mentor of the Year. Scott holds degrees in Occupational Safety and Health from Murray State University in Kentucky.
