Shane William Rawley, born July 27, 1955, in Racine, Wisconsin, is a former professional baseball player, accomplished pilot, entrepreneur, and author. With a storied 16-year professional baseball career, including 12 seasons in Major League Baseball, Shane played for the Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and Minnesota Twins. Among his career highlights are being named to the 1986 All-Star Team, earning National League Pitcher of the Month in August 1985, and an outstanding 1987 season with 17 wins. A graduate of William Horlick High School and alumnus of Indian Hills Community College, Shane’s passion for sports was evident from an early age. After retiring from baseball, Shane embraced a range of interests and accomplishments, including earning his pilot’s license in 1980 and relocating to Sarasota, Florida, in 1982. He is the proud owner of Shaner’s, a popular pizza restaurant in Sarasota, where he remains a beloved figure in the community.
