Shannon Rizzotto

My name is Shannon Rizzotto and I have been writing for over twenty years. I first started writing poetry and spoken word but soon found the writing of anything interested me more and more. From there I wrote many short stories for school, high school, even college. In 2007 I published my first book of poetry titled, Thoughts of Mind. It was a look into poetry from a "street" level. The way I saw life from living in the city. My second published work was another book of street poetry in 2010 and from there I went on to writing a special project report that turned into a book that I donated to Cornell University titled, Invasive Species of the Great Lakes. Late 2011 I started a herbal remedy related group on Facebook and in a short while the group had over 5.000 members. At this point I decided to take what I knew of herbal remedies and turn it into book form. In 2013, I published The Medicine Woman - An Herbal guide to Ancient Remedies. This book was a big hit amongs my readers and prompted me to write another titled, Herbal Grimoire. This book contained many herbal remedies as well as magical and holistic view points on almost every herb you could think of. In 2013, I also started writing for "clients" on a freelance website. After having written several titles including; How to build survival shelters. Surviving a Disaster The Beginners Guide to Trapping Dark Fair Maiden A Man's Dream, and many shorter papers, I decided it was time for me to once again write for myself. I have since started a DIY series on hand crafting with three titles currently on the Kindle market and plans to write many more under this catagory. I am a former lead interviewer for BBE entertainment out of Buffalo, NY in which I performed interviews with bands, artists, models, and photographers for an online community. I was a weekly columnist for The Northfield News in Northfield, Vermont for two years with to headings titled, In your Backyard and Kidz Korner. When I am not writing I am a volunteer EMT-B in New York State. I also enjoy acrylic painting and spending as much time as I can in the wild.
