Inspired by her daughter, Shantel began developing the children's picture book series, Tudie's Travels, to encourage children and parents to read and learn about the fascinating and diverse world we live in. Tudie's Travels - The Adventures Begin is the first in the series and is available in paperback and on the Kindle. Shantel holds a BS degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. She grew up on a small farm like Tudie, and currently lives in a Washington, DC suburb with her family.
