Shaziya Barkat

Shaziya Barkat, also known as s.s. barkat, is a writer based in Dallas, Texas. Her work explores themes including faith, spiritual renewal, love, loss, and mental health. Shaziya's passion for writing flourished at a young age through local poetry contests, school newspapers, and spoken word performances. "knowing You", her first collection of poetry, prose, personal narratives and essays, was published in July 2019 and became a #1 Bestseller as well as the "Poetry Book of the Year" by Daybreak Press. In January 2021, Shaziya published "Doctor Diaries", followed by the "My Iman Journal: 52-Week Reflection, Gratitude, & Dua Journal" in 2022. With inspiration from her own children, Shaziya released her debut children's book, "Rahma Dreams of Jannah", in August 2024. Aside from writing, Shaziya works as a pharmacist.
