A transplant from southern Maine, Sherman Kew Jr. moved to California after graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) '03. He worked in Hollywood in the art department on various tv shows and films for over a decade. The film work has since moved Sherman and his family around the country—from Los Angeles California, to Oahu Hawaii, to Seattle Washington, to New Orleans Louisiana, to Miami Florida, to name a few places, phew!—until they ended their journey in Georgia. Sherman has drawn storyboards for video games, film and television. His most recent work has been on the tv shows The Walking Dead, TWD Dead City, TWD The Ones Who Lived, Leverage: Redemption, Echo, Cobra Kai, and Rescue: Hi Surf. An Ornament Story: A Cocoa and SCrumbs Tale is author/illustrator Sherman Kew Jr.’s first book. (with more tales to come from the Cocoa and SCrumbs North Pole universe) The novel, An Ornament Story: A Cocoa and SCrumbs Tale started as a bedtime story Sherman told to his children. Their enthusiasm motivated him to grow the tale into something more. It meant a great deal to him when they would request An Ornament Story before bed, but quickly, his wife noticed, they learned the story was his soft spot to exploit to stay up later. Currently, Sherman lives in Peachtree City with his wife, Meredith, a TV producer, and their two kids, Nolan and Matilda, drawing storyboards, driving a golf cart to school, and writing and illustrating stories between walks with their pup, Evie.
