Simon Doubleday received his undergraduate degree from Cambridge University and his doctorate from Harvard. He teaches at Hofstra University, and is recipient of national fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment of the Humanities, and a Beatriz Galindo Senior Fellowship from the Ministerio de Educatión de España (Spain). He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Medieval Iberian Studies. He currently divides his time between New York and Santiago de Compostela.
