Sophia Kamveris, MS, RD, LD is a Boston-based registered dietitian and licensed nutritionist with a diverse, 35-year career in the healthcare field. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and a Masters degree in Nutrition. Having held a series of clinical and management positions with Marriott International, she ultimately found her passion for teaching while working with the U.S. Air Force. As a medical team member, she prescribed dietary and lifestyle recommendations for military personnel to ensure that their optimal health was achieved and performance directives were met. Sophia currently maintains a private practice in Arlington, Massachusetts for nutrition and wellness counseling. She provides individualized nutrition consultations designed to render personalized solutions. Specializing in diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and obesity/weight management, she also administers counsel on women’s health, digestive disorders, and general health and wellness interests. Through her extensive experiences, Sophia has met with thousands of patients and feels that she has learned a lot about people along the way. How to read them, evaluate their needs, and assess what they are capable of accomplishing. Her approach is designed to match the personality of each person that walks into her office and communicate a plan that is easy to understand and apply. She also works as a Health Consultant for the Food and Beverage Industry and provides corporate wellness programs to help companies improve employee health outcomes. Sophia has been a technical reviewer for several of The Complete Idiot’s book series. Her own authored book, The 28-Day Gout Diet Plan, was released on February 5, 2019. She also hopes that someday (soon) her unpublished children’s book manuscripts will find homes in colorfully illustrated binders and into the little hands of curious readers!
