关于作者

I was born in Brooklyn, NY. After getting my degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute I spent a year as a VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) in the remote Eskimo village of Sleetmute, Alaska. After that I was assigned to the Hawaii Curriculum Center in Honolulu where I designed creative educational materials for the schools there. That led to a fellowship at MIT's Center for Advanced Visual Studies and while there I was lucky enough to become the exhibits designer for the Boston Children's Museum...a great place. After Boston I moved back to New York where I designed educational kits and participatory experiences for The Museum of Natural History, The Brooklyn Museum, The Bronx Zoo and The Smithsonian Institution. After the computer came along, the work that I'd been doing became an actual profession called Educational Software Designer and I was offered a position at Mattel toys in California. Very cool! I was there for a decade or so and eventually I became the Director of their 'Blue Sky' group exploring the 'toys of the future'. After that I went to a company called Educational Insights where I designed the CD-ROM version of their multiple-award winning game GeoSafari...featuring the voice of my good friend (from Brooklyn) the late, great Richie Havens. My first children's book Stanley, the Seal of Approval was originally published by Random House. I'm still writing, drawing and designing and you can see some of the the results of those efforts on my website at www.StanResnicoff.com, where by the way, you can also check out the great story (MUGS) behind the photo at the top of this column. Stan
