Stanley Lombardo comes from a long line of natural storytellers: his paternal grandfather was the village poet of Petra Prezzia, Sicily. A collection of his stories, “’Carlu Races the Wudu’ and Other Sicilian Tales,” with illustrations by Miranda Ponder, is available on Amazon. Lombardo’s current publications include The Crosstime Adventures of Carter Paxton: "Paxton at Bosworth Field," "Paxton in the New World," "Paxton versus the Armada," and the spinoff Christopher Marlowe mystery "Who Murdered Shakespeare?" Non-series novels include "Song of the Highwayman; or, The Smuggler’s Opera," "A Rumor of Innocents: The Return of the Nephilim," "A Shortage of Giants," set in the world of Norse mythology, and "Thirsty Blade," based on an ancient Japanese legend. Lombardo’s children’s books comprise the “Lucas and Nellie” series, “The Raptor Who Ate Roses,” and “The Christmas Dragon.” Born in Buffalo, New York, Stanley Lombardo holds a B.A. in English from SUNY Buffalo and a Ph.D. in Medieval Studies from Indiana University. Between times, Lombardo did a hitch in the U.S. Navy. Lombardo teaches at Arkansas Tech University, where his specialties include film studies, screenwriting, Chaucer, and Shakespeare. In his infrequent spare time, the author makes knives, swords, and armor, as well as various other artifacts in steel and leather.
