
Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, Stephen Ball has been writing stories since he was eight years old. A fan of both literary works and popular fiction, his eclectic tastes are on display in the many genres he has written in. In 2008, he wrote he published his first novel, "Headline," a thriller set in Boston that explored the themes of heroism and responsibility. It was published by iUniverse and won both the publisher's "Editor's Choice" and "Publisher's Choice" awards. He published his second novel, "Random Acts of Violence" in 2018. A crime thriller that he began when he was 17 years old, Random Acts of Violence follows an aging has-been actor who has a dissociative break and begins to believe he is the violent killer he portrays in his latest film. Having worked in offices for almost 20 years, he took the most outrageous of his experiences to create the humor fiction novel, "Office Drone" in 2020. At the end of 2022, he published his first short story anthology, "Madhouse," inviting readers to listen to stories told by patients in a mental hospital. The stories are a mix of horror, humor and thrillers. In 2024, he revisited a pair of pulp characters for the short-lived independent magazine, "Into the Void," collecting their adventures into a short story collection titled "Wizards & Demons." Currently, he is working on a WWII drama/thriller called "Broken Cross." While he has read a notable volume of books throughout the years and continues to be a voracious reader, he cites Stephen King as his greatest literary influence. Stephen lives in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, with his family.
