关于作者

Stephen Carbone is an FAA-certificated aircraft technician; he's been active in the commercial aviation industry for over 36 years. He was an aircraft mechanic for a major airline, repairing commercial jets and managing maintenance work crews with a front row seat into both sides of a successful airline. He says, "I've crawled into places that a jet's designers forgot about. I know what it takes to meet a deadline and I always did it safely." After acquiring his Masters degree in Aviation Safety Systems, Stephen was hired by the NTSB to investigate major aircraft accidents both domestic and international. He streamlined how the NTSB investigates aircraft maintenance issues. He later joined the FAA as a technical specialist and air cargo point of contact, supporting FAA inspectors and the airlines. He wrote articles for two aircraft technician trade magazines read by thousands of aircraft technicians, pilots, and engineers. His website: https://danieltenace.com hosts his weekly (Saturday) articles on aviation safety; each first Saturday of the month is 'Lessons Unlearned', an article dedicated to aviation accidents and the lessons that were missed. Stephen instructed aviation safety at both the NTSB Academy and the FAA Academy; he also taught at a nationally recognized aeronautical university, instructing by using his 36 years of experience as a teaching tool. He said, "It's simple: if I haven't done it, I shouldn't be teaching it." His first novel: The Air Crash Files: Jet Blast, debuted in September 2014; it is the first of his aircraft accident investigation novels starring his protagonist, Daniel Tenace. His publisher went out of business, but Stephen published this novel in e-book in 2017 and has republished the novel in paperback in February 2017. Jet Blast gives the reader a first hand look into how accident investigations are actually conducted; from recovery to the final accident hearings, the reader is taken on a rare journey into legitimate issues facing airlines today. In September 2017, his second Daniel Tenace novel was released: The Air Crash Files: Thermal Runaway in e-book; in March 2018, the story was published to paperback. This novel follows the further investigations of the NTSB accident investigator, Daniel Tenace, working against time and government bureaucracies to solve major aircraft accidents that threaten the safety of aviation. His third Daniel Tenace novel: The Air Crash Files: Flameout, is scheduled to debut in late 2018. It is not for lack of material that causes the delays between novels, but the time to write them; Stephen's full time day job is instructing aviation professionals from around the world. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "Fiction reveals truths that reality obscures;" The Air Crash Files novels expose the pros and cons of the aviation industry in an entertaining read; the reader sees real issues and real solutions to issues that threaten the aviation community today.
