Stephen Greenlane is a performer, music teacher, and the author of Find Your Own Singing Voice. Stephen is a self-taught musician, whose singing career started almost by accident. Having spent years researching both music theory and music practice independently, he is of the firm belief that it’s possible to be your own teacher when it comes to music. His work delves into both vocal and instrumental training, guiding readers along on their own path of musical discovery. Stephen is a music teacher with a difference: He has never been to music school. He has learned through trial, error, and perseverance, and he firmly believes that the hurdles he has run into along the way have helped him gain a deeper understanding of the workings of his craft. He has learned a lot through failure, and he aims to use that knowledge to help others avoid the struggles he had while developing his skills. Stephen has been singing since he was 12 years old, when he was asked to stand in for another singer at the last minute. Despite his fear and lack of experience, he was able to tap into his childhood experience of music and sing with confidence. This was the catalyst for a lifelong journey of musical growth and constant practice, which he firmly believes deepens the musical experience. His career blossomed from there, and he is now dedicated to sharing his skills with others. Stephen’s passion for music fuels his entire life, and when he’s not teaching or working on his own music, he loves going to gigs and concerts. He is also an avid reader and loves nothing more than a rainy afternoon with classical music in the background and a book in his hands.
