Stephen Guth is a seasoned supply management professional with extensive procurement, negotiation, contracting, and vendor management experience. He has worked for Aflac Insurance, Dell Computer, and Ryder System as well as proudly serving with the armed forces as part of the United States Special Operations Command. He is a licensed attorney, member of the District of Columbia Bar, and served as Chief Corporate Counsel of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. Stephen is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law (J.D.), University of Maryland Global Campus (M.S., Procurement and Contract Management), and Saint Leo University (summa cum laude, B.A., Computer Information Systems) and attended the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation. He has also taught procurement-related courses as an adjunct professor with the University of Maryland Global Campus Graduate School of Management and Technology. Stephen holds multiple professional and technical certifications, including Certified Professional in Supply Management, Florida Certified Contract Negotiator, ICAgile Certified Professional – Adaptive Org Design, Certified Professional Scrum Master II, Certified SAFe® 4 Advanced Scrum Master, Certified Scaled Professional Scrum, Certified Professional Agile Leadership, and Fellow of the Life Management Institute. Stephen served as a member of the Professional Standards and Ethics Committee of the National Contract Management Association Board of Directors, Executive Sponsor of the Institute for Supply Management–Northern Virginia, Director of Professional Development of the Institute for Supply Management–Florida’s First Coast, member of the Oracle Procurement Customer Advisory Board, member of the Hilton Hotels Customer Advisory Board, and as an expert witness in contract law matters. He is the creator of the Procurement Maturity Model® and received the Member of the Year award from the Association of Technology Procurement Professionals. Stephen has been a featured speaker at numerous supply management industry events and he has authored numerous articles on contracting, procurement, vendor management, and patent law in periodicals such as CIO Magazine, Journal of Contract Management, Management Quarterly, and Inside Supply Management. He is the author of numerous books, including The Contract Negotiation Handbook: Software as a Service, The Contract Negotiation Handbook: An Indispensable Guide for Contract Professionals, and The Vendor Management Office: Unleashing the Power of Strategic Sourcing.
