Stephen O. Presley is the Senior Fellow for Religion and Public Life at the Center for Religion, Culture & Democracy (CRCD) and Associate Professor of Church History at The Southern Baptist Theology Seminary. CRCD is an initiative of First Liberty Institute that engages in cultural advocacy and strives to promote a positive vision of religion in the public square. Presley has a history of research and teaching in historical theology and the intersection between the great thinkers of the Christian tradition (especially the early church) and the Christian spiritual life. His work at CRCD and classroom teaching combines his passion for resourcing the important contributions of the Christian tradition with a desire to see the church flourish in a changing world. Presley earned his undergraduate degree at Baylor University, a Th.M from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. He is currently researching, writing, and speaking on the topic of Christian cultural engagement in a secular age.
