Steve Colangelo

Steve, born in Sacramento in 1960, has been a lifelong resident of California’s Central Valley. Raised on 48 acres of farmland dedicated to growing grapes and later hay, Steve embodies the hard work, dedication, and perseverance that rural life instills. Steve discovered his passion for radio broadcasting while founding a local high school radio station. This led to a successful career as an announcer and on-air personality for prominent stations such as KROY, KWOD 106, and KGNR News Radio 132, where he was widely recognized as “Steve Anthony.” To this day, he enjoys reminiscing with long-time Central Valley residents who fondly remember him as a beloved voice in the region’s airwaves. While advancing his radio career, Steve also demonstrated his commitment to public service by serving as an Auxiliary Police Officer with the Sacramento Police Department. In 1985, Steve relocated to Stockton and founded Metro Expositions, producing Home & Garden shows in Lodi, Stockton, Modesto, and Merced. His entrepreneurial spirit flourished further in 1992 when he and his wife Karen established American Convention and Exposition Services, which has been instrumental in shaping over 200 successful events across California, Arizona and western Nevada. Twelve years later, the couple expanded their ventures by acquiring Galaxy Rentals, transforming it into American Event Rentals—a leading event supply company known for supporting weddings, graduation parties, and numerous community and family celebrations. Steve’s leadership and expertise have made him a sought-after figure in the community. He has served as President of the Stockton San Joaquin Convention and Visitors Bureau and held this position twice for the Stockton Asparagus Festival. Additionally, he has contributed as Financial Vice President of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce. His dedication has earned him prestigious recognition, including the American Rental Association Person of the Year Award for Region Nine. As an investment property owner in California and Texas, Steve focuses on providing quality housing in today’s challenging real estate market. His portfolio includes diverse residential properties, reflecting his strategic approach and commitment to excellence. Steve and Karen are deeply rooted in their community, believing that its true strength lies in its people. Residing in Linden, they have proudly lived, worked, and raised their family in the Central Valley. The couple recently celebrated 37 years of marriage and cherish their roles as parents to a son and daughter.
