Steve Gay is a writer of science fiction, historical fiction and short stories. He grew up in central England, and in Connecticut, and gained his first degree in History and Politics from the University of Southampton. It wasn’t until relatively late in life that he wrote his first novel, completing it on the train as he commuted to London. He left his career to focus on writing and completed a masters degree at the University of Warwick in 2018. His first short story 'Another England' was published by Litro magazine, and he published his first novel, The Birds that do not Sing in 2020. Steve's first science fiction novel, The Callista Alignment was published in 2024, and begins The Natural Human Saga series. Steve lives in the Midlands and is never happier than when he's skiing with his wife and adult children, or touring in his campervan. He writes daily, his laptop a constant companion.
